Free kids Bible lessons
Sunday school lessons for small churches
A small church can run a full kids ministry with one teacher and one room. Heart Turn Kids is built for that: every lesson works for a mixed-age class, needs no kit, and costs nothing.
Each of these free lessons comes with an animated story film told word for word from the King James Version, a coloring page, a class sheet, a teacher guide with a 45-minute plan, questions with answers and a game, so one teacher can lead the whole class.

Lessons to start with

God Made Everything
Genesis 1:1–2:3 · story film
In six days God made the light, the sky and the seas, the dry land and the plants, the sun, moon and stars, the fish and birds, the animals, and then man and woman in His own image. On the seventh day He rested.
Big idea: God made everything, and He made it good.
Memory verse:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 (KJV)Ask: What did God make on the first day? Light (Genesis 1:3–5).
Game: Creation Days Relay (about 10 minutes)

Noah Builds the Ark
Genesis 6:5–22 · story film
The earth was filled with violence, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD and walked with God. God told Noah to make an ark of gopher wood, three hundred cubits long, with a window above and a door in the side, and to bring in his family and two of every living thing. Noah did everything God commanded him, even before he saw a drop of rain (Hebrews 11:7).
Big idea: Noah trusted God and did all that He commanded.
Memory verse:
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Genesis 6:22 (KJV)Ask: What does the Bible say about Noah? He found grace in the eyes of the LORD; he was a just man, and he walked with God (Genesis 6:8–9).
Game: How Big Was the Ark? (about 15 minutes)

David and Goliath
1 Samuel 17:1–51 · story film
The Philistine giant Goliath, six cubits and a span tall, defied the armies of Israel for forty days, and Saul and all Israel were greatly afraid. Young David trusted the LORD who had delivered him from the lion and the bear. He chose five smooth stones out of the brook, went out in the name of the LORD, and with one stone from his sling the giant fell upon his face to the earth.
Big idea: The battle is the LORD’s, so we can trust Him when we face giants.
Memory verse:
And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.
1 Samuel 17:47 (KJV)Ask: How tall was Goliath? Six cubits and a span (1 Samuel 17:4), more than nine feet tall.
Game: The Battle Is the LORD’s (about 10 minutes)

Daniel in the Lions’ Den
Daniel 6:1–28 · story film
Daniel served King Darius so faithfully that the jealous princes could find no fault in him, so they had the king sign a law that for thirty days no one could ask a petition of any god or man except the king. Daniel still knelt at his open window three times a day to pray and give thanks, and he was cast into the den of lions. God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and in the morning Daniel was taken up unhurt, because he believed in his God.
Big idea: We can keep praying and trusting God, and He is able to deliver us.
Memory verse:
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Psalm 55:17 (KJV)Ask: How often did Daniel pray? Three times a day, kneeling at his open window toward Jerusalem (Daniel 6:10).
Game: Sleeping Lions (about 8 minutes)

The Christmas Story
Luke 2:6–20 · Matthew 1:21 · story film
Jesus was born in Bethlehem and laid in a manger. Angels told shepherds the good news, and the shepherds came with haste to find the baby, just as the angel had said.

Memory verse:
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Mark 4:35–41 · Matthew 8:23–27 · Luke 8:22–25 · story film
A great storm arose while Jesus slept in the boat. The disciples woke Him, afraid. Jesus rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace, be still,” and there was a great calm.
Big idea: Jesus is stronger than every storm.
Memory verse:
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39 (KJV)Ask: What was Jesus doing during the storm? Sleeping on a pillow in the boat.

The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:25–37 · story film

Big idea: Be a neighbour to anyone who needs help.
Memory verse:
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Questions people ask
Can one teacher run Sunday school for every age?
Yes. Teach one story to everyone, then let younger children color the coloring page while older children do the class sheet. Each teacher guide has tips for preschool, elementary and preteen children.
What if we don’t have a screen?
Read the passage aloud from the Bible and hold up the coloring page as the picture. The film helps, but every lesson works without it.
How do volunteers know what to teach?
A free church page gives everyone one link that opens on the right lesson for the day, with the lessons ahead and who is teaching each class.
Are these lessons free?
Yes. Every lesson, film, coloring page, class sheet and game is free for churches, families and schools, with no subscription, no cost per child and no sign-up needed to teach.
Which Bible translation is used?
The films and memory verses show the King James Version word for word. In the lessons you can switch the verses to the Berean Standard Bible, the ESV or dozens of other English Bibles, every verse is labelled with its translation, and tapping a verse on the film opens its whole chapter.
